CPL TRAINING PROGRAM
Carver Aviation is one of India’s most trusted aviation school. It is both a DGCA and an ISO 9001:2015 certified program. Our CPL program equips aspiring pilots with the necessary knowledge, skills and flight hours to successfully operate commercial aircrafts.
To briefly surmise throughout the program, you will receive expert instructions at our state-of-the-art facility in ground training, flight theory, simulator training, hands-on flying experience, an in-depth understanding of aviation law, proficiency in radio telephony including an understanding of air tower functioning and a command over aviation English language in preparation for a successful career as a Commercial Pilot.
Eligibility Criteria to Enrol for a
CPL Program in India
To be eligible to enrol for a CPL program in India, there are certain criteria that must be met. These eligibility criteria ensure that aspiring applicants possess the necessary qualifications and capabilities to undergo flight training and operate an aircraft responsibly.
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age on the date of application, this minimum requirement indicates that the applicant possess a certain level of maturity.
Candidate must have a higher secondary or equivalent 10+2 pass certificate with a minimum 50% in Physics, Mathematics and English from a known Examination Board. These eligibility requirements indicates that the applicant has a basic understanding of the fundamental subjects relevant to aviation namely Physics, Mathematics and English.
Adequate competency in written and spoken English in necessary as all instructions and communication is conducted in English.
Candidate must obtain a medical certificate as notified by the DGCA under Rule 39B from a DGCA approved medical examiner. Aviation is a physically and mentally demanding field, even as an aspiring pilot you must be in good health to ensure the safety of yourself, your passengers, and the aircraft.
Logistical Details of the CPL Program at Carver Aviation
Once enrolled for a CPL at Carver Aviation you have taken the first step toward becoming a commercial pilot.
Carver Aviation’s CPL Program takes 12-18 months to complete, subject to passing DGCA and other exams.
We have recently introduced the Rapid CPL Program which takes 9 months to complete, subject to completion of the following pre-requisites: passing of all DGCA exams, Computer Number, SPL, FRTOL, and RTR.
The CPL Program at Carver Aviation is a full-time residential program. We do not offer residential facilities but we help you find suitable accommodation.
We run 3 to 4 CPL program batches per year, each batch has 25 to 30 cadets. The classroom strength is deliberately small to ensure maximum attention to each candidate.
Carver Aviation is strategically located at the Baramati Airport, Baramati. Baramati resides in the rain-shadow region of Maharashtra, this region’s geographic features and weather pattern contribute to year-round safe and efficient flying experiences, while still presenting opportunities to experience and handle challenges like crosswinds and gusty landings.
Baramati is accessibly by road, rail and air. Baramati Terminus Railway Station allows for easy rail access, Baramati Domestic Airport and Pune International Airport allow for easy air connectivity.

CPL Infrastructure
CPL Training Program
After completing the training, you need to pass the written and practical exams administered by the DGCA. The written exams assesses your theoretical knowledge and understanding of aviation concepts, regulations and procedures while the practical exams assesses your ability to apply your knowledge and skills in a real flight scenario. Successful completion of these exams demonstrates your competence and readiness to be a licensed commercial pilot.
Written tests for the theory are conducted by the DGCA, in accordance to their published schedule. Flying tests are conducted periodically, according to the student’s schedule, progress is recorded in accordance with DGCA guidelines. Practical exam for Radio Telephony Restricted License or RTR is conducted by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, as per their published schedule.

CPL Training Program
Ground School Training
Ground school training is the first integral branch of any CPL Program. As the name suggests this training predominantly takes place on the ground, in classrooms, in labs, in workshops. Ground school training covers all theoretical subjects required for flying, including but not restricted to aircraft mechanics, air navigation systems, air meteorology, technical general and specific, radio telephony theory and practical, aviation law, communication procedures, human performance and limitations, etc. Ground school lays aviation foundation through the theory of principles of flight, aviation regulations, weather patterns and other crucial aspects of aviation.
Ground Training = 350 hours
Flight Training
Flight training is the second integral branch of any CPL Program. As the name suggests this training predominantly takes place off the ground, it includes simulators and aircrafts, dual and solo flights. Simulators have wide views and real-time display of terrains and airports. Dual flight is where you fly an aircraft accompanied by an instructor and solo flights are when you fly alone. All three are mandatory for the completion of this course. During flight training you gain hands-on experience and develop proficiency in controlling an aircraft through various manoeuvres, take-offs, landings, navigation techniques, emergency procedures and other essential flying skills.
Simulator Training = 20 hours.
Aircraft Training = 200 hours
