Ground School Training Program
Carver’s ground school spans approximately two years, blending theoretical knowledge with real-world flying experience. Students undergo a structured induction process, including aptitude, English proficiency, psychological, and psychoactive substance testing—ensuring that only motivated and capable candidates progress to flight training.
In the first phase, trainees complete:
- Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
- Flight Radiotelephony Operator’s Licence – Restricted (FRTOL-R)
- Pre-Flight Ground Training (PFGT)
These modules cover Navigation, Air Regulations, Meteorology, Aircraft Technical Knowledge, and Radio Communication Procedures, supported by simulator sessions and local aerodrome familiarization.
Note: Ground classes for SPL, FRTOL-R, and CPL are mandatory for all trainees at Carver Aviation.
Carver offers:
- 485 hours of CPL ground instruction and
- 295 hours of PPL theory classes
All training is conducted by experienced instructors under DGCA-approved Chief Ground Instructor (CGI) supervision.
Subjects include Air Navigation, Meteorology, Air Regulations, Technical Knowledge, and Radio Telephony (Restricted).
Beyond the core syllabus, Carver emphasizes real-world aviation competence through:
- Aero-Medical Indoctrination Training (human performance, stress, and fatigue management)
- Instrument Flying Exercises (attitude flying, partial panel, and instrument transition)
- Emergency Scenario Drills (engine failure, forced landing, communication failures)
- Cross-Country Flight Planning Workshops (navigation, weather analysis, and operational planning)
- Crew Resource Management (communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and situational awareness)
The Ground School features:
- Live RT Lab (FRTOL-R)
- E-Library and Computer-Based Training systems
- Flight Simulation and Interactive Workshops
Carver’s holistic approach ensures that every student develops technical proficiency, situational awareness, and professional airmanship, preparing them for real-world aviation operations with confidence and competence.
